With my abiding curiosity and love of flora and lifelong joy of painting detail it seems inevitable that I became a botanical artist. After training with and becoming a member of The Society of Botanical Artists in London I began teaching monthly classes at Caldecote Village Hall. I work mainly in watercolour as I feel this medium best captures the diverse characteristics of botany from the delicate wind flower to the leathery leaves of the hellebore. Botanical Art invites us to pause and look at things afresh to appreciate the simple, overlooked beauty of the everyday.
My work is exhibited at Pittenweem Arts Festival in Fife and annually at The SBA Open Exhibition at Westminster Central Hall in London. Commissions include images used in a publication for Winterbourne House and Gardens and De Jager Bulb Catalogue front cover for 2013.
