I studied graphics at Coventry College of Art and London College of Printing in the 60's. My early jobs in the printing industry confirmed my belief that Fine Art was the direction I wanted to head in. Throughout my life my work, with young people in Institutions, Youth Clubs, Playgroups and Schools, has incorporated art into their everyday world whilst still managing to continue with my own. Since retirement and the family leaving home I have been able to spend more time doing what I love. I have shown and sold work in Norway, Scotland, Australia and here at home in England. Most recent exhibitions have been in Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery, the Atkins Building Hinckley, Melbourne Open Arts, Warwickshire Open Studios and our own Open Arts Trail. I am primarily a landscape painter but lack of access to the mountains and sea since living in the midlands has meant me turning more and more to gardens and flowers for inspiration with colour and texture being dominant features. I also love to make one off Artists Books which allows me to play with materials and be a bit more creative.
